Award-winning blueCORE standalone signal processors at the heart of a streamlined approach to hybrid SDI/IP workflows
Champaign, IL – May 11, 2026 — Cobalt Digital, the leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning signal processing products, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, will highlight its comprehensive end-to-end IPMX/ST 2110 ecosystem at BroadcastAsia 2026 in Stand 5D2-4. Designed to support the global community of broadcasters and content creators as they transition to IP, the showcase is anchored by Cobalt’s new and award-winning COBALT® blueCORE family of standalone signal processors alongside a full range of IPMX certified solutions, including audio monitors, multiviewers, gateways, compact converters and routers.
COBALT® blueCORE – powerful multi-function processing in 1RU
At the center of the exhibit visitors will find the COBALT® blueCORE family that combines all the audio and video processing functions required for live production in a single 1RU. Its compact form factor, ease of operation and low power requirements (less than 80W for the ST 2110 version) make the blueCORE family ideally suited for live production in trucks, OB-vans and other space constrained environments.
Designed for fast and simple deployment, users need only to power it up, connect the signals, and the device is ready to operate – with or without a computer. A large touchscreen front panel and four illuminated knobs enable effortless, local configuration of all processing functions, an essential advantage in small OB vans, and fly packs where configuration changes from event to event. The unit can also be deployed in traditional fixed environments and controlled remotely through a Web GUI.
Capabilities include up/down/cross conversion, color correction, several flavors of HDR processing, audio routing and mixing, per-channel frame sync, frame rate conversion, audio embedding and de‑embedding, SCTE‑104 as well as logo insertion. Support for both SDI inputs and outputs (copper and fiber), four channels of 3G processing – or one channel up to 12G, along with access to ST 2110/IPMX inputs and outputs make blueCORE a ‘must have’ for infrastructures transitioning to IP.
According to Suzana Brady, Cobalt’s SVP of worldwide sales and marketing, “Broadcasters are navigating a gradual shift toward IP, often within spaces where real estate is scarce. blueCORE provides the flexibility to bridge the gap between SDI and IP by delivering everything they need contained in one small unit.”
COBALT® PACIFIC Adds ST 2110/IPMX Output and Demodulator Options, Satellite/Internet Support
Cobalt is featuring enhancements to its COBALT® PACIFIC compression platform including an ST 2110/IPMX output option for the COBALT® PACIFIC ULL-DEC upgradeable software defined broadcast decoder. This allows decoded content to be available simultaneously over SDI and over ST 2110/IPMX. For ST 2110 operation, a built-in frame sync will emit a PTP-locked signal.
PACIFIC also now includes support for hybrid Satellite-Internet delivery along with a DVB-S/S2 factory-installed demodulator option for satellite signal decoding and pass-through on ASI and over IP. In this mode, satellite is used for bulk distribution, and the Internet is used to recover any lost packets, allowing the use of Ku and Ka bands for distribution.
Fixed-Function openGear® Cards for Scalable Growth
New fixed-function openGear® cards provide cost-effective entry points with license-based upgrades for scalability. The 9925-FSx is a one path frame sync card that supports license upgrades up to four paths per card, and an audio processing license upgrade for AES, MADI, and DANTE 64 support. The 9981-LUTx color processor supports license upgrades up to four paths per card along with options including: SCALER, BBC LUT, COLOR, 4K, LOGO and ANC.
Additional End-to-End IPMX and ST 2110 Highlights Include:
COBALT® ARIA Audio series – Showcasing the only fully IPMX certified audio monitor on the market! COBALT ARIA Audio Monitors feature best-in-class sound monitoring and 16 SDI or 64 MADI metering from a compact rack-mount form-factor. Sound is produced by an efficient Class-D amplifier with DSP and specially selected speaker components. A customizable touch display front panel with eight individual volume controls makes easy work of mixing, and control can also be achieved through a web interface.
Also at show the 9935-AUD4-DANTE quad-channel with up to 12G DANTE/AES/MADI/embed and de-embed functions with frame sync capabilities, two gigabit Ethernet ports, a 64×64 configuration, and a full audio router mixer.
The COBALT® UltraBlue MV-SW Multiviewers are available as both a turnkey solution or as a software package with support for SDI and IPMX. COBALT® UltraBlue can receive compressed and baseband audio/video content over IP across a variety of protocols and formats with very flexible audio routing.
The COBALT® SAPPHIRE mini converter family are IPMX-capable standalone mini-converters available in a variety of configurations including single, dual, and quad channel, with some models capable of simultaneously transmitting and receiving. These units convert between IPMX/ST 2110 compatible signals and SDI/HDMI, with support for baseband video and JPEG-XS.
COBALT® INDIGO Gateway solutions provide a powerful bridge between IP and SDI with support for IPMX/ST 2110. These versatile, high-performance solutions simplify interop, routing, and format translations while preserving image quality and latency performance.
Added Brady, “Together, these solutions demonstrate Cobalt’s commitment to delivering practical, scalable pathways to IP—empowering broadcasters to evolve their infrastructures at their own pace while maintaining operational efficiency and signal integrity.”
