Media Links, a leading developer and manufacturer of IP media transport solutions, has announced the integration of its Xscend™ platform with Skyline Communications’ DataMiner xOps platform. Media Links will showcase the integration for the first time at stand 4M4-4 at Broadcast Asia 2026 (May 20-22).
The integration allows Media Links’ Xscend systems to be monitored and managed within DataMiner environments, giving operators end-to-end visibility and management of their transport infrastructure alongside other network elements.
As media and telecom networks continue to evolve, operators are increasingly adopting layered management architectures that combine vendor-specific element managers with high-level orchestration platforms to manage complex and distributed workflows.
“Media Links has long been known for delivering a complete and robust transport solution, including control and management,” said John Dale, CMO at Media Links. “At the same time, we recognize that many of our customers operate in multi-vendor environments and rely on platforms like DataMiner for centralized visibility and orchestration. This integration makes it easier to bring Xscend into those existing workflows and align with how networks are managed today.”
By enabling interoperability with DataMiner, Media Links expands the accessibility of Xscend across a large global installed base. This simplifies deployment and supports more efficient monitoring, control and coordination across diverse network infrastructures.
“For our users, DataMiner has become the operating system to manage complex operational ecosystems. Platforms are converging, media companies need to prepare themselves for the GenAI era, and time to value has become more important than ever,” said Thomas Gunkel, Market Director Broadcast at Skyline Communications. “To make this transition a success, the foundation needs to be right first. And this is exactly what we do by integrating Media Links’ Xscend platform into DataMiner, to allow users managing high-performance IP transport within a unified operational environment today and to be ready for an AI-driven intelligence and autonomous era .”
The Media Links Xscend platform is a high-performance IP media transport solution designed to carry video, audio, and data across wide area networks with high reliability and low latency. Built for live production, remote workflows, and large-scale contribution environments, Xscend combines high-capacity transport with advanced features such as hitless protection switching. Its flexible architecture alongside ProMD EMS, Media Links’ element management system, allows it to integrate seamlessly into modern IP-based infrastructures, supporting both centralized and distributed operational models.
DataMiner is the xOps platform built for the Intelligence Era, bridging complex infrastructure and automated intelligence across mission-critical ecosystems, including telecom networks, satellite operations, broadcast platforms, utility grids, and smart infrastructures. It unifies diverse data sources and controls, creating a real-time digital twin for AI-powered monitoring, analytics, automation, and orchestration. The platform comes with out-of-the-box solutions that are highly customizable and supported by a vibrant global DevOps community. This combination of visibility, intelligence, and scalability fast-tracks digital transformation and empowers organizations to operate as agile, data-driven powerhouses that thrive in a rapidly evolving world. DataMiner is currently deployed by leading corporations in over 125 countries worldwide, and it is integrated with 9000 products across 1000 technology vendors.
