Highlights include complete path from SDI to IP, C-band transition solution, award-winning blueCORE standalone processing and UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewing
Champaign, IL – October 5, 2026 – Cobalt Digital, the leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning signal processing products, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, will bring its end-to-end ST 2110/IPMX ecosystem to NAB New York 2026 (Booth 226), along with a portfolio of practical solutions addressing the challenges of today’s evolving broadcast environment.
A key focus at NAB New York will be Cobalt’s end-to-end approach to ST 2110/IPMX, demonstrating how broadcasters can transition from SDI to IP at their own pace while supporting hybrid environments and protecting existing investments. Other highlights will include a hybrid satellite/Internet solution addressing the challenges of the C-band transition, the award-winning blueCORE standalone processing platform, the UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewer family, and solutions for video and audio processing, monitoring, conversion, encoding and decoding.
End-to-End ST 2110 and IPMX Solutions
Cobalt continues to expand its IPMX capabilities with support for JPEG XS Temporal Differential Coding (JXS TDC), enabling IPMX-certified products to discover, establish and transport visually lossless, ultra-low latency JPEG XS media streams. The enhancement strengthens IPMX environments with plug-and-play deployment and low-latency JPEG XS workflows while maintaining compatibility across mixed-vendor systems.
JPEG-XS support is available across Cobalt’s ST 2110/IPMX-capable products, including SAPPHIRE mini converters, INDIGO gateways, PACIFIC encoders and decoders, TOPAZ processing platforms, ARIA audio monitors and UltraBlue multiviewers.
A Practical Solution for the C-Band Transition
Responding to an immediate industry challenge, Cobalt will spotlight its solution for broadcasters navigating the C-band spectrum transition. The company has added support for hybrid Satellite-Internet operations to the COBALT® PACIFIC compression line, compliant with VSR TR-06-4 Part 7, using Internet connectivity to recover data affected by satellite transmission losses.
The PACIFIC ULL-DEC with SAT-DEMOD uses a factory-installed DVB-S/S2 demodulator enabling broadcasters to receive satellite signals and make them available through both ASI and IP. While in hybrid operation, Ku- and Ka-band satellite bands are used for bulk distribution, while the Internet is used for lost packet recovery, offering a practical approach to maintaining reliable content delivery as broadcasters adapt to changes in satellite distribution.
COBALT® blueCORE™ Platform – Powerful Processing in 1RU
Cobalt will showcase its blueCORE family of standalone signal processors, which debuted at NAB 2026 and has since received multiple industry awards. blueCORE delivers powerful, multi-function audio and video processing in a compact 1RU form factor, making it well suited for applications where space, power and operational simplicity matter.
The platform supports both SDI and ST 2110/IPMX, allowing users to process signals within existing SDI environments while providing a direct path toward IP. The ST 2110 version consumes less than 80W, while the self-contained design enables configuration and operation with or without a computer.
Capabilities include up/down/cross conversion, color correction, several flavors of HDR processing, audio routing and mixing, per-channel frame sync, frame rate conversion, audio embedding and de‑embedding, SCTE‑104 insertion as well as logo insertion – and many more base features.
With support for both SDI inputs and outputs (copper and fiber), four channels of 3G processing – or one channel up to 12G, plus ST 2110/IPMX inputs and outputs, blueCORE provides extensive flexibility for infrastructures transitioning to IP.
COBALT® UltraBlue MV-SW Multiviewer – IP and Hybrid
Cobalt will also demonstrate the latest UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewing capabilities, providing flexible monitoring for facilities working with compressed streams, SDI, ST 2110, IPMX or hybrid environments.
UltraBlue MV-SW is available as a turnkey package or as software running on customer-supplied hardware. The multiviewer can receive compressed and baseband audio/video content over IP across a variety of protocols and formats, with flexible audio routing, graphical and text overlays, PIP positioning, tally support and multiple display configurations.
With IPMX support now incorporated, UltraBlue provides another practical bridge for facilities transitioning between traditional SDI infrastructure and IP-based workflows.
Audio Solutions – New Fiber I/O for Dante openGear Cards
Cobalt’s enhanced audio capabilities will be on display with optional fiber Inputs/Outputs added to the family of 9935-AUD4-DANTE openGear advanced audio processors cards to support Dante Audio Interfaces.
Direct fiber connectivity simplifies Dante installations, supports longer-distance deployments and eliminates the need for external media conversion in fiber-based network infrastructures.
COBALT® ARIA Audio Monitor Line
The COBALT® ARIA family provides a path forward for facilities migrating to IP-based operations. The series includes the only fully IPMX-compliant audio monitor and supports 16 SDI or 64 MADI channels in a compact rack-mount form factor. An easy-to-use touch display and a web interface provide intuitive control and monitoring..
More Cobalt – More Practical Solutions
NAB New York visitors will also be able to explore additional products from Cobalt’s extensive portfolio, including, SAPPHIRE converters, INDIGO gateways, PACIFIC compression solutions, and a full line of Cobalt’s openGear cards.
“The industry is no longer asking whether it will move to IP; it is asking how to make that transition practical,” said Suzana Brady, SVP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Cobalt Digital. “At NAB New York, we will demonstrate an end-to-end ecosystem that provides broadcasters with the tools they need to move at their own pace, while also addressing challenges such as the C-band transition. From IPMX and ST 2110 to standalone processing and multiviewing, our goal remains the same: provide practical solutions that make complex workflows easier to deploy and operate.”
