EIT Culture & Creativity has launched a new €600,000 funding call to support the development of short, skills-based training programmes for professionals working across Europe’s audiovisual media sector.
The initiative will fund up to eight projects, with grants of up to €75,000 each, to develop and pilot Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses addressing emerging industry skills needs.
The call focuses on three strategic areas: intellectual property and rights management, artificial intelligence in audiovisual workflows, and digital storytelling. The objective is to help media professionals rapidly upskill or reskill as technology, production practices and business models continue to evolve.
The funding is open to education providers, industry associations, research organisations and media companies based in EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Both single applicants and multi-partner consortia are eligible to apply.
Projects are expected to deliver practical, outcome-oriented courses designed primarily for asynchronous online learning in English, making them accessible to working professionals. Proposals should demonstrate clear learning outcomes, practical assessment methods and a strong focus on real-world application.
The announcement comes ahead of IBC2026, where EIT Culture & Creativity will make its largest appearance to date following its appointment as European Innovation Partner for IBC2026. The partnership extends EIT Culture & Creativity’s pan-European innovation ecosystem into the broadcast and media technology community, connecting startups, researchers, investors and industry leaders through a range of activities during the event.
Visitors to IBC2026 will be able to meet the EIT Culture & Creativity team in Hall 14, home to the new Future Tech Ignite startup area and the IBC Accelerator Zone, where the organisation will showcase its programmes and opportunities for collaboration across Europe’s creative and audiovisual sectors.
Applications for the CPD funding call close on 14 September 2026. EIT Culture & Creativity will host an information webinar on 30 July 2026 from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST to explain the objectives, scope and application process.
