Sonnet Technologies at IBC2026

At this year’s IBC Show, Sonnet will showcase its most comprehensive lineup of Thunderbolt 5 products, including desktop and rackmount PCIe card expansion systems, docking stations, and Sonnet’s popular Apple® Mac mini® and Mac Studio® rackmount solutions for professional workflow expansion. Visitors will also get an early look at several soon-to-launch solutions.

NEW: Dual-Port 25 Gigabit Ethernet Thunderbolt 5 Adapter
Sonnet will premiere its Twin25G® T5 Thunderbolt™ 5 Adapter. The adapter offers users a cost-effective, high-performance way to add 25GbE fiber connectivity to their Thunderbolt and USB4® computers. Designed for professional users working with shared storage, media servers, and high-speed network infrastructure, the adapter enables computers without internal PCIe slots to connect easily to 25GbE-enabled networks and storage systems.

The Twin25G T5 Adapter connects via LC fiber optic cables, sold separately, and includes two 25GBASE-SR SFP28 transceivers, enabling 25Gb Ethernet connectivity at distances up to 100 meters.

NEW: Bus-Powered 10 Gigabit Ethernet Thunderbolt 5 Adapter
At IBC2026, Sonnet will debut the Solo10G® T5 Thunderbolt™ 5 Adapter, the industry’s first bus-powered 10Gb Ethernet Thunderbolt 5 adapter. Requiring just 7.5 watts of power, the Solo10G T5 enables Thunderbolt 5 computers to connect to professional 10Gb Ethernet networks at full speed over standard Cat 6 or Cat 6A copper cabling. It also maintains broad compatibility with Thunderbolt 4, USB4®, and Thunderbolt 3 computers, delivering reliable, high-performance networking for large file transfers, shared storage, professional video workflows, and other bandwidth-intensive applications.

Unlike USB4 adapters, the Solo10G T5 underwent rigorous electrical and interoperability testing to achieve Thunderbolt certification, ensuring consistent performance and broad compatibility across certified host systems. Thunderbolt certification also verifies the adapter’s hardware-based, cryptographically authenticated firmware, allowing only manufacturer-authorized firmware updates. For organizations with stringent IT and security requirements, this provides greater confidence in device integrity and network endpoint security than uncertified USB4 alternatives.

NEW: Thunderbolt™ 5 Docking Stations
At the IBC2026 Show, Sonnet will feature two new next-generation Thunderbolt™ 5 docking stations, Echo™ 20 Thunderbolt 5 SecureDock and the award-winning Echo 21 Thunderbolt 5 SuperDock. Both docks offer users a record number of connectivity options: three Thunderbolt 5 ports; one 10 Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45) port; four 10 Gbps 7.5-watt USB-C charging ports; one 10 Gbps 15-watt USB-C charging port; four 10 Gbps USB-A ports; one port each for HDMI and DisplayPort displays; one SD 4.0 card slot, and one microSD 4.0 card slot. Offering lossless audio support, the docks also include two analog HD audio line level output jacks; one 3.5 mm microphone jack; and one 3.5 mm combo HD audio jack.

The two docks differ in one way: the Echo 21 features an internal M.2 NVMe SSD socket that enables users to add up to 8TB of onboard storage with support for data transfers up to 3,400 MB/s. Both docks enable users to conveniently connect their computer peripherals — such as storage devices, input devices, headphones, as many as four monitors, etc. — to a convenient central point instead of directly to their computer. They connect all those peripheral devices through the included Thunderbolt 5 cable (which also supports the docks’ charging of laptop computers with 140 watts of power).
