Managed service changes dialogue without actor-specific training or facial rigging while preserving the original performance and fitting established post-production pipelines
SAN FRANCISCO — Sept. 9, 2026 — sync. labs today announced sync. productions, bringing its studio-grade lip-sync technology to film and television production. Built by a research-driven team of scientists, artists and engineers, sync. labs use purpose-built proprietary AI models to make lipsyncing faster, more accessible and zero-shot, while keeping the original performance at the center of the process. Studios can use sync. productions to localize complete titles for new audiences or change individual lines after filming, while preserving the actor’s original performance and the director’s cut. sync. labs will introduce the service offering to the international media and entertainment community at IBC2026, September 11-14, stand 14.B11, in Amsterdam.
The team behind sync. labs helped pioneer modern lip-sync technology and has spent years advancing it through proprietary research and model development. sync. productions brings the next evolution of that work to studios, with a dedicated model refined for the visual quality and creative demands of film and television production. Using only the original footage and a new audio track, sync. productions adjusts the speaker’s mouth and facial movements to match the new dialogue, without actor-specific training, facial scans or rigs. Developed with performance preservation as a central design principle, the technology is built to change the dialogue without losing the expression and character of the original take.
For customers, this technology is delivered as a managed service. The sync. productions team reviews the footage and delivery requirements, produces a sample for creative approval, manages quality control and revisions in-house, and delivers finished material in the formats post-production teams already use. The service can operate before or after color grading. Delivery supports professional formats including ProRes and OpenEXR, alongside HDR and ACES color pipelines, so finished material can move directly into the production team’s existing finishing process.

Because the models are zero-shot and language-agnostic, they do not need to be trained for each actor or language. They are designed for real production footage, including changing angles, obstructions, low light, fast movement, and multiple faces.
